Rooted in daily observation of the landscape, my practice is inspired by the physical ‘bodies’ of nature — resonant, sensuous, relational - and by the contrast of light and shadow, stillness and energy, empty space and form.
Materiality is central to the process. Through layering, erasure, and translucency, painting becomes a responsive and embodied act shaped by the translational qualities of memory and the resonances of time. The resulting surfaces resonate between observation and imagination, recognition and abstraction, the unknown and the remembered.
