The Unknown Remembered
A series of small abstract landscapes inspired by shifting light, sensory perception, and an interplay of empty space and solid form. Painting with thin transparent glazes these pieces are built up with layering and have a jewel like luminosity. Overlapping layers, gestural pencil marks and scratches add to the sense of surface and time. Forms are sculptural mingling together with light and space. Gravity does not apply - there is a sense of energy, weather and movement. Each piece, painted on gesso panels can stand on a shelf or hang on a wall.
