This small snapshot of work is from a collection exploring memory, sensory perception, and embodied practice.
Inspired the entanglements and sensuousness of 'bodies' of nature and the perceptual movement between empty space and form, stillness and movement.
The collection takes its title from a Psychedelic Furs album. Music is always part of the experience of painting, often work is titled according to what I am listening to, it forms part of the fabric of the piece and will influence pace and mood of brushstrokes. The title reflects the inherent tension in painting - the desire to capture a moment in time in a continuing state of flux.
